Horizon Shot

i wondering how to pull off this quite famous shot when you see like a morning sun and clouds and the shot fast forwards and all the clouds move and its suddenly night fall, and vice versa.

Also how to make the shot where its like the cars driving and they go realli fast.. any adive would be helpful. Thank you!

i asked the same question a few months ago.

for the cars, what i did was find a bridge/overpass at night, and filmed cars on the highway for 20-30 minutes. then, i took the clip, and compressed it as much as i could. even at that point, the lights of the cars appear like fast moving spots. if you want to get the effect of solid, beams of light where the cars are, try overlapping the sequence onto itself a bunch of times at varying rates.

for the sun/clouds stuff... you're just going to have to wait and film that stuff.

The way the professionals do the sky shot is to have a film camera and a controller that takes one picture every few minutes: then after 24 hours you get a piece of film that shows an entire day in a short period of time.

With video you'd have to record a few seconds every few minutes and then extract single frames from each clip and stick them together.
