Hi
I'm new on this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm not really a film maker, but rather interested in scoring for film. I've been composing for some time and did only a few scores for small independant student films (and lots of home videos, but I suppose that does not count!)
I love good movies, especially fantasy, sci-fi and action. My favourites are the LOTR and Matrix. Most of the time the quality of the soundtrack and music steers my liking in a film because I'm a little biased in that direction!!

If anybody is looking for a composer for free, just let me know 😉

Thanks Tyler. This looks like the place to be to learn about the art and craft. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
What software do you use to editor your music? I have recently purchased Cakewalk's HomeStudio 2004. It's a powerful program and I am having a blast with it. Maybe someday, when I make a short film, I'll look you up and we can put something together!

My main application is Sonar 3.1.1 Producer Edition, also from Cakewalk. It is based on the same basic audio engine as Home Studio with lots of extras added. I have a couple of other goodies I use (e.g. Project 5, PowerTrack Audio 9) mostly as extra utility programs.
I would love it if we can put something together 🙂
