Im currently working on a screenplay for a movie about a teen superhero. Like any teenager she deals with life's ups and downs. Life gets even harder when her mother is murdered. Months later she recieves superpowers from an unknown substances. Filled with guilt and anguish she realizes she must use her powers to save lives and prevent injustices. Sounds like something i can do?

Mabye its the time of the year or something.
Yeah you could do it, sounds easy, just figure out what her powers are and set it up good in the beginning.
But is she good or evil?
I'm getting more of a malvolent vibe from this.

That all depends upon the superpowers. If your hero can read minds it would be fairly easy. If flies around knocking helicopters out of the air it might be harder.

i was thinking speed, strength, flight, and emitting energy from the body. is that impossible? because i was thinking green screen, editing, and camera angles could do it.

Thats pretty vague.
Also, maybe try to see if theres something a bit farther out of the norm. This sounds like a typical superhero, which equals overdone and BORING!!!

i've been trying to think outside the box but i feel like everythings taken and they're the cool ones. i mean flying that the mother of all powers.im open to suggestion

i already started the story. i just need to clarify things to see if it works with the story and continue writing it. That being said im still open to suggestion on powers. don't know if this helps but the hero is a female so super burbing ain't happening.
Lots of things have been done before, look at the abilities from a different viewpoint to make it fresh.
Flying may be easy, but stopping, not so much. Or turning, that's a skill worth learning if you don't want to kill yourself.
Or perhaps she emits heat from her body, which heats the air and causes updrafts that she can body surf upon. Sort of one ability with two uses. Also one she can learn about later when she overuses the energy power in battle or something. Forces her to wear a protective costume because she develops a bad sunburn or something.
Gotta be careful though because the dying mother might be similar to Spider-man if you're not careful.

i think the heat causing updrafts is really interesting. how she acquires this, not so sure. Surfing on stuff does kind sound like the silver surfer or ice man but im willing to see what i can do with it. What about the power to stop and slow time?
If you think something seems like another superhero than (a) change it enough that people aren't reminded (b) have a character mention it.

ONLOOKER2=Kind of looks like she's surfing on air, actually.

SUPERHERO=I wish, Ice. That would be nice. Gliding on hot updrafts has chapped the hell out of my lips, dried out my eyes, and given me a heat rash across my stomach. This spandex outfit you cooked up needs a teflon layer or something.
Of course our heroine will get better at it, but you get the point. Stopping time could be cool but would make stopping crime really, really easy. If it's too easy you lose the drama.

You guys really know what your talking aobut? How long have you guys been doing this? I think the heat updrafts is my best bet. Anybody know how i can do that special effects/editing wise? Never did the superhero thing before.
