Would this iMAC be good to run AVID and Final Cut?
Or is there a better option?
I?m new to film making and editing so I would not need the fastest Mac, just something that would run the programs with little problems.
You will have no problem running either. ?:D?

Really thanks. The sales man at CompUSA said that I would probably need a Power Mac.
But this would be my first time making films and I didn?t think I would need all that power, I?m not making Star Wars.
I was really thinking on getting a Mac mini then getting a faster Mac when I needed it.
What else besides the iMac/ Mac Mini and FCP (and of course a DV camera) would I need to make my first flick?
That iMac is a fine computer for editing. Check out PowerMax.com for great prices. I?ve gotten my last 4 Macs from them.
The Mac Mini will also give you enough power to use Final Cut Pro or Express.
One thing you want to make sure you get is a good, external microphone.

One last question. Would this iMac be able to run Final Cut Studio well? Or would I need a Power Mac?
