I have an idea for a documentary type of film. I plan on using a plain old handycam to shoot the piece. What kind of software for a PC not MAC can I use to edit it?

Thank you

Thanks Zack!

Yes, my budget is limited since this will be more of an experiment unless it turns out really great or something. I will definately look at some of your suggestions.

I don't recommend Windows Movie Maker, it can be a pain. However, if you're new to editing videos, it's probably the most user friendly. IMovie is another free one (you can get it for PC too), but it seems that they made it deliberately hard to use. I would recommmend Adobe Premiere over all others, that's what I use. It takes some getting used to, but it makes nice videos and has useful tools.
