Lookin for advice on how to get my ideas onto paper. The concept for the movie doesn't sport much dialogue until the halfway point. (ie, like Les Samorai) I'm having trouble organizing the visual shot angles since thats the "dialogue" of this film. Looking to tell the story through cuts and atmosphere. Its not a silent film, but merely, the long delay of dialogue is to set up a mystical "teaser" i guess before indulging into a wordy plot. For instance the first scene is of two men in a room. One is towering over the other yelling something. The yelling is mumbled or echo'd. The camera twists into a face off of edits showing the growing intesity of the situation (ill explain this more if anyones interested but its to long for now.) At the end of this a close-up of the yelling mans mouth shows him say "and...thats it"..fades or blurs into black as music starts to be heard. THEN, a gunshot, by this time its just the sound and you can't see who or why.
Don't want to give away to much but i thought that might explain why im having such a hard time organizing this. Any advice is helpful; thanks man.

it runs and runs to catch up with the pot of gold, but at the end of the day..its just cornflakes

well, when it comes to the screenplay you should keep it simple. don't worry about the tone, atmosphere and all that. that is the director's job!
like Alexander Mackendric said, "the writer's only and vital job is to provide the dramatic tensions, incidents, actions, reactions, and situations".

my advice is that you just write what happens in your story without any directions (camera angles, moves, lenses, etc.).
you should worry about that later or leave it to the director if it's not you.
good luck!

The thing is that I'm not a "screenwriter", its just I would like to be able to put my ideas onto paper so that my freinds can understand what i'm talking about without me jumbling on. My love is behind the camera, and its hard to recruit people into our circle if i can't get my point across without losing them in the first couple sentences. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. indy_pendent I will take that into consideration it actually helped me start writing.
