Hi everybody,

I need some help. My friends and I are in the pre-production part of our film. We have the script made and are making the story boards. Some of the things we need help or have questions are:
-In the script there are guns, we have a couple of air guns with no amunition, how will we be able to shoot the movie in public with the fake guns but look real, and not scare anybody or get in any trouble with it?
-Budgeting, well we need help on ways to budget our money, my friend wants it to be under $500 but my guess is it will be more seeing all the variety of things we need to get, any tips would be great.
-Is there such thing as a movie permit that would allow you to be able to shoot film in public?
-Does anybody know how to make a gunshot look real, also some blood?
-Location, one location is in the police station, how can we achieve getting that location, its either that or an office building?
-Basically any tips on filmaking that has helped anybody in the past would be great because we need all the help we can get.
Thank you for the help

The first thing I would say you need to do is contact your local film commision. They will be able to help tell you what you need to you as fas as filming guns in public, etc. My understanding of it is that each state has it's own rules about these things.
Now as far as making the gun shots look real I myself was just turned on to a great computer progarm call AlamDV2 which will give you that real gun look at a VERY good price. www.alamdv.com And for blood there are a number of different website that can help you with that, just search the web until you find what you want there.
I this helps you somewhat and good luck with your film.
