Does anyone know if the fantastic US cop drama Homicide: life on the streets was the first television programme to use the hand-held camera technique? I missed it when it was first on TV in the UK but hear its out on DVD later this month and thought it would be helpful to watch for a study I'm doing if this is the case.
What would you study that would be different or special because it was first that you couldn't study from Battlestar Galactica or the dozens of other shows doing the technique now? What would you study about handhelds to begin with?

No. It wasn't the first television program to use the hand-held camera. But it still can be used to study if you like.
