Hi, Can someone tell me how well halogen lights work with kodak vision film. I want to shoot on 500 or 800 but want to know if it will hurt my film much if I use the cheap home depot lights. The projects are just for fun so it does not have to be super high quality but I want the film to look good.

Thanks
Anthony Collins

Go ahead... use em. Halogen lights tend to be somewhere around 3000 to 3200 Kelvin, the exact same color temp as studio tungsten lights (just avoid "Daylight Halogen"--or rather if you get daylight halogen, make sure you get a daylight film or use an 85 filter over the lamp). You might not have the flexibility that we get from studio lights, but you can go ahead and shoot with them just fine. Just make sure you get a tungsten (as opposed to daylight) balanced film like 5284, 5279, (500 ASA) or 5289 (800 ASA). You also might want to consider getting some of the clamp on lights and some photoflood bulbs. These could give you some added flexiblilty when lighting.

"On a good gate, that's a wrap."
