I know this must be just about the most frequently asked question - but im only new so pls humour me!
How do i show my work to find investors or others to sell a script or idea without running the risk of someone just taking it?

Ideas can't be copyrighted, and for good reason... there are very few 'original' ideas in the world, and you can't make a movie from an idea, only from a script.
Scripts you can register, but no reputable production company is likely to rip it off if they can buy it from you instead: the potential legal bill for stealing a script is far more than the saving from not paying for it. There have been very few cases I've heard of where that has happened, and many of them seem circumstantial.
And, frankly, most scripts aren't worth stealing in the first place.
