Hey fellow filmmakers

I have just recieved a question from a friend asking if i knew any good books/DVd's or websites that explain filmmaking. I have given him a few ideas but i wondered if you guys knew any more. He is not a complete begginer but is by no means an expert. He is a LOW budget filmmaker so wants things to do with pre production and production rather than expensive editing or other post production tutorials.
