Ok, im a hobby filmermaker, have shot a couple of shrtfilms, but it just keeps having that "homevideo" feel to it, some guy i meet told me its becouse of the frame rate, that professional movie have a lower framerate (like 24-23fps)when they record the movie, is that right or am i way of here?

It's more because they spend millions of dollars on lighting, acting, numerous takes and all the other things required to make a movie look good. Shooting 24fps won't magically make your video look like a Hollywood movie.

I've made professional looking movies shot on video without spending millions of dollars on anything. But I agree with Mark. It's about the lighting more than about the frame rate. Poor of just good lighting with a camera shooting 24p is going to look poor or just good.

However, using the 24fps argument has become standard. It often works as a great reason to not work hard on lighting or even to not make a movie until you can afford a new camera.

Take more time lighting your shrtfilms and they won't have that "homevideo" feel.
