I'm a 17 yr old Aussie who loves making movies.
Last year I spent a few months with friends making a short movie (40mins) with only my panasonic 3ccd cam and tripod. The short movie we made came fourth in the state in a young film makers comp, only beaten by people using clay animation and had professionals.

I'd love to get into creating shorts, but as I'm still at school and have no money, its hard.

I've been wary of putting any of my work on YouTube as I'm told they have the right to do whatever they want with it..so my question is,
Where do you think is a good place to get your work noticed??:)?

Noticed? Noticed by who? If you want to post it on a website and tell people about it, You Tube is just fine. If you're looking to get noticed by someone who can give you a job as a director, YouTube may not be the best place to get noticed.

Mainly just by different people who have interests in film, rather than just random people. But if you knew a good place to show your work to professionals...that would be good!

As ridiculous as it may sound, Myspace movies section would be decent if you join the little filmmakers guild they've got going on there. I don't know about professionals, but it will be film specific.

God I hate Myspace.

Certaining any high hitting website that you can get it on is a must. But i think that writing your movie to DVD any posting (old fashion snailmail) to broadcasting companies is also just as good. However dont expect to many replies - yet all you need is one ?:)?
