I am wondering if there is anywhere online to get free clips of things like planes taking off, or any other sort of random video clip for us in making project films. I've found some that cost money, but are there any that are free???

www.archive.org has a lot of old movies (e.g. industrial, military, promo shorts) available that are now in the public domain; depending on quite what you're looking for you may find something there.
