Hello, I was wondering, if I had a firewire cable, could I connect it to my USB2 port? if the cable doesn't fit, could I still use my usb2 port to import my video on to the computer? or must I ALWAYS use firewire? because I don't have a firewire port but my computer is loaded with USB2 ports. I hope that made sense...

You can't connect a firewire cable to a USB port - the two standards are completely different and the plugs will not fit each other, nor will it actually work if the plugs did fit.

what you need its a camera that will let you export with USB2. alot of them do have it now i think since it is a little faster in transfer rate then firewire. firewire and USB are definately not compatable. you can get firewire cards pretty cheap around here, not sure about your area but they are easy to install so dont go paying a tech. hope that helps.
