Smoke doesn't project onto walls. You can do smoke using CGI without the same difficulties unless you're talking about a thick rolling cloud of smoke. I don't know about smoke or fog machines so I'll let someone else comment on that.

Rizzo, that clip looks nice. I think it being outdoors and nothing close to the flame solved a lot of the ambiet light issues.

wow that effect was awesome rizzo?8D?. So anybody know anything about smoke or fog machines, even if i should use it? The reason i ask is because a few months ago i mentioned I'm making a movie about a teen superhero who creates heat updrafts, i gave her a few other powers pertaining to heat. rjschwarz already told me to use a boogie board for flight but I'm making sure i know how her other powers would be shown.
