Does anyone have any tips on finding actors? I've tried posting on here to no avail and I really need to find some actors for a short film I'm making soon.
Any ideas?

PCR. I forget what it stands for ('Professional Casting Report' maybe? Something kind of like that), but it's one of the main places actors look for work in the UK.

Last ad I put in there for a six-minute short on 16mm I got about 350 replies... the post-lady was about ready to tell me to go and collect my mail at the sorting office by the time the CVs stopped coming.

Try Shooting People. They have an excellent casting list. You need to pay an anual membership fee but it's only about 30 quid, which is money well-spent because you can post to all of their lists. www.shootingpeople.org.

Also check out UK Screen (www.ukscreen.com).

Here in the States there are acting schools, colleges with theater departments and small community theaters all over the place. Even in the smaller towns there are colleges and small theaters.

That's where I get many of my actors. I'm quite ignorant of most things in the UK. Are there many small theaters and colleges with theater departments in the UK?
