Wheres the best place to start looking for new scripts for a short film. I live in New Zealand. Have a good reader and lots of time. Any advice appreciated.

To be honest, it's probably better to find a good writer. The problem with so many short scripts is that they may have a good idea and be decently written, but it only takes one scene where the Mongol hordes are chased across the desert by aliens, and your budget is already $1,000,000+.
It's generally a lot cheaper to find a writer who can write a script around locations, props, etc that you have available than to take a short script someone has written and try to bring it to the screen. Most short writers don't even think about how much their movie is going to cost when they write it.
Where abouts in NZ are you based? I just so happen to be a writer in Wanganui, very interested in getting into film. I've got a few longer projects on the go, but would not be averse to exploring short films. Do you have any genre/style in mind?
