Don't you ever find that every truly talented filmmaker always rises to the top? Even those with grass roots indie beginnings.

This led me to this conclusion, if you want to be a filmmaker, and you want to be working in Hollywood then don't worry. As long as you have genuine talent and keep making films, eventually someone will notice.
However, if you've been making films for some time now (features, I mean) and you haven't got anywhere, then consider that you might be just crap and you make crap films. You should stop wasting your life.
