If any of you have seen Back To The Future think to the scene where Michael J. Fox's character plays "Johnny B. Goode." How exactly did they film that? The music runs smoothly throughout the scene, yet there are dozens and dozens of cuts. CU's of Fox's hands, his face, the crowd dancing the whole band play etc etc... My question is how would an amateur achieve this?
Thanks

Film the scene a dozen times from a dozen angles and piece it all together carefully. Either that or piece it together uncarefully and hope nobody knows his fingers are on the wrong strings at the wrong time.
