Newer dv cams have a number of different frame rates you can use

Digital cameras have generally had multiple frame rates but 24p is fairly recent and somewhat of a big deal. I'm not sure why to be honest but I can tell you if it was easy to do elsewhere nobody would have made a big deal about 24p.
