Hey everyone,

I'm new here, maybe this kind of topic already exists here. I was just wondering:

I'm looking for a place to study film in Europe and I can't afford an expensive film school. I was looking at Free University of Berlin and its Film Studies course. Anybody here know how good the education is there?

Also, could anybody possibly give recommendations to not very expensive (or even free) film schools in Europe? I know that the National Danish Film School is free, the Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg is free. Anymore?

Thanks.

Ouuu damn nice question.I too am looking forward the answers.

Anyways my guess is that u shouldn't be too concerned with the lvl of the education those free schools are offering, any knowledge they offer u is something, and if such schools provide u with some technical support and experience that's all u need for now.

The Baltic Film and Media School ( http://www.bfm.ee) in Tallinn, Estonia, has one of the lowest tuitions I have seen, 2500 EUR per semester for a MA in film arts. It is not a well known school in Europe yer because it was founded only a few years back but it has already more than 400 students from over 20 countries worldwide and they also offer free equipment and studio facilities for student films which is a huge plus.

In addition to the tuition fees, you also need to take into account the living costs in the city you are going to be studying and living, for this Berlin and Tallinn are the cheapest places in Europe to be studying film.

You should also check out filmmaking.net's Film Schools directory. ?url?/filmschools?/url?. Many of the listings do have basic information about tuition fees.
