How long is an average film for a festival or contest if I'm just into amateur stuff? I really want to make a feature length film, and I'm going to do whatever it takes for my story, but I was just curious. Thanks for the help.

Films are generally considered to be "features" if they are 90 minutes or longer. Most features have an average running time of 90 - 120 minutes, but sometimes longer.

I think the shortest movie I've seen released as a 'feature' was 74 minutes... much less than that and you'd have a hard time justifying the name. I remember a lot of people on the Net complaining that 'Wrong Turn' was only about 80 minutes (odd, considering there were so many other things about that movie to complain about, like the lousy script).
