Find a camera (cheap and digital) and make short movies and get to know what you're doing. These can be home movies, music videos or attempts to tell a real story. Although the last is best.

Read a lot.

I can also recommend two decent books to help you get started as well. I think they are good for beginners.

Film Directing: Shot by Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen (Michael Wiese Productions)
The Filmmaker's Handbook: A Comprehensive Guide for the Digital Age

The books book is filled with great visual examples of continuity and storyboarding the second book is a classic filmmaking book with a much broader overview of the filmmaking process.

I hope this helps.

First of all, write down what you want to film. You have to like the idea and get pumped up to do it.

Then, buy a camera, or even lend one from a friend or family (it can be the worst camera ever but that doesn't matter, it's the way you use it), if you need actors ask your friends and family to help you, write down a list of all the shots you think you need, and start shooting.

You'll see that a lot of improvising will happen, but what's important is that YOU know what you want in the end.

Last step is getting an editing program, upload the footage to your computer, and begin clicking stuff and so learning how to edit your movie/musicvideo/homevideo/whatever.

Hope this has been helpful 😉
