Just curious as to know what other peoples favourite parts of the filmmaking process are (pre-production, production, post-production, or the relaxation between projects?) Also what are your favourite jobs (director, actor, writer, producer, cinematographer, etc)?

Wow, this is a great question! Glad you posted it. I'm anxious to hear what other people have to say.

As for myself, I have no PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE in any of these areas, (besides acting). But I what I love about films is the fact they are so vast and broad when it comes to making them. The three stages each have their own appeal to me and I personally don't think I could choose one over the other. Each stage is needed for the completion of the film, and I dream about making films all day and every night. I honestly couldn't choose one stage over the other.

As for my favorite job. The scorer, and director are my two favorite positions. I think music is just as important as the video you watch. But someday I hope to be a director. It only hit me about four months ago that I wanted to be involved with movies. But since then I have been actively engaged in anything and everything involving movies. Anything I can get my hands on or read I gladly take time to.

Great question!

I agree they are very hard to split.
I love in pre-production how you are planning everything and getting all these ideas. You are creating your on world where anything you want can happen.
Production is great because you are actually doing what you set out to do. You are really inside the world you created and everything is unfolding before your very eyes.
With post-production you are finishing it off. Adding things your film was lacking and all that stuff, to essentialy get it all perfect (hopefully)
All 3 stages are great fun and are all rewarding. However they are can have their downsides (struggling to write scenes, dealing with difficult actors, dodgy computers, etc)

As for my favourite roles I would have to say directing, acting, editing and writing are all up there. However I would gladly take an active role in any part of the process i could.

I agree with you Company. i love pre-production. Planning evering thing out all your shots and just having the whole film on paper going in to the production. Im on pre-production on my first film now and its going pretty good. lol But im sure when i get to the production phase that will become my favorate as well lol.

As far as jobs i have not worked pro- on a project yet. But back in high school i was part of there video production program where we learned all about prduction. It was real good program. we actually had a studio inside over high school. We learned all about Film/Tv production. In that program most of the time i was ither the director or i did the editing. We had to rotate jobs but i really loved directing.
