Hi, I have recently downloaded the demo version of EffectsLab Pro, which somebody recommended on this site. So far I've had a play about with it and it looks pretty good. I've made lightsabers, muzzle flashes and glowing globes but only on still photographs. Does anybody know if you can import film straight from your camera to it or does it have to be converted to a different file type beforehand?

From what I've seen from the demo, I was able to add effects to one of my shorts in my computer. I don't have the program but I will soon swear by it. It will help my films big time and it will surly help yours too. Keep playing around with it; everything will fall into place. Check out this program too. Lightwave 7 (just google it) or www.newtek.com, you'll thank me.?:D?

The problem I struck was the fact that the movies had to be AVI, or something like that, and none of my films were on an AVI format. Does anyone know how I can change a film on WMV (Windows Media Video) to AVI?

The way I converted WMV to AVI was taking footage I'd edited in Windows Movie Maker (still useful for a number of basic things), saved it (uncompressed), then imported that into Sony Vegas, which handles pretty much all file types. From there I did additional editing (mostly adding extra audio tracks), and exported as AVI.
If you don't have a program that can deal with both file types, I'm not sure how you'd do it...
