When I bought my DV camera it didn't come with the cord I need to connect it into the computer so I can put film on my PC. How much do these cords cost and also, how much room does the film take up on my PC. And also, I'm using Windows Movie Maker. Is this Ok for a first time editing thing, or is there functions I'd be missing out on?

Feel free to answer any of those questions and help fill my head with film making knowledge.

"How much do these cords cost"
Well, you can pick them up ? 6' for $10.00

The thing you have to understand is that Windows Movie maker is VERY basic. It allows you to do some stuff that Premiere Pro does... But Premiere pro is a much better choice if you can afford it.
there are two setbacks to Premiere, #1 its a lot harder to learn than movie maker... #2 its a lot more expensive....

My suggestion, just use moview maker till your ready to invest in such a Premiere setup.
