Hey. I have never used a mini dv camcorder before, but I plan to purchase one soon. I was thinking the Panasonic PV-GS120 and I need to know a couple things first.
1) When I connect the firewire cable from my cam to my computer, will it be automatically detected or what?
2) What would be the best film-making mic compatible with the PV-GS120? It has a mic input and unfortunately only has a cold accessory shoe.

The answer to your first question is usually u have to open your editing system and then it will show up. Im not sure about your second one.
