Hey, My name's Chris. I found these forums seeking help. I've recently bought a JVC Camcorder, and I have no idea how to get footage off, Using firewire i presume, with the DV slot inside the camera. I'm really confused, because I don't know what program to use to get the footage off, How do i get the footage off with the firewire, into what program? Can anyone tell me? Thanks everyone.

If you are running a PC, then connect your fire wire into the port on your camcorder labeled "DV", or "Firewire" or "I-Link". Connect the other end to your PC, usually it is found in the back, but it might be in the front. If your PC does not have a firewire port, then you are going to have to buy one. After the firewire is connected, open up Microsoft's WIndows Movie Maker. You can find it somewhere in the accessaries panel. Click on the button, "Capture from Video Device" and follow the instructions from there. That should get you started. I hope I helped in some way.

When the script writing is done, the work has just begun. When the filming is done, the work has just begun. When post-production is done, the work has just begun. When the distribution is done, you decide if the work is done.
