I am currently making a documentary. Since it is a documentary, I (obviously) am going to have to record a voice-over track. The only problem is, I don't have the proper equipment (yet) to do so. Someone suggested that I just use my computer's built in mike, but the sound quality throught that method is far from desirable.
I would like to know if there is wsomething I can buy that will allow me to either:
Record my voice, and import it through my USB port
or
Record my voice directly through my USB port
I have set aside $500, and would like for the product I buy to provide a good level of clarity.
Any recommendations?

Hi there ironchef926... just a quickie if you want to record a descent voice-over samples I personally use adobe audition, I use a standard mic in a normal room where there is no echo, and you will be amazed at the results... its realy simple to use.. you dont even need a soundcard you can use your line-in on your PC..
as for usb I am not too sure but I will look into it for you today ?:)?
Thanks for the tips.
I was beginning to think I had been overlooked ?:D?
