Hi all!

If I'm in the wrong section of the forum for this, I'm sorry. I was wondering if anyone had any guidelines or knew of any demos or websites I could look at to find out the proper/professional way to make my demo reel. I've got quite a few projects that I'd like to showcase parts of, but I don't think that dragging and dropping all of the projects onto a dvd is really the way to go. I don't think that anyone would really want to sit all the way through that. Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks for you help,

You might want to check the messageboards on cinematography.com for links.

As a director, I have seen many reels. I prefer then shorter to longer - say 6 minutes. A really great thing about DVD's is the ability to but different things on one disc. Your main reel could be 6 minutes - a nice overview of different styles using different medium (DV, Betacam, Super8, 16mm, 35mm, HD). Then you could include an entire scene from a film. Then a longer reel - say 10-15 minutes of footage.

That way if I like the short version I could continue looking. If I don't, I can just move on.
