Christmas Question!

hey everyone, im really exited this christmas, because i'm getting my first profesional quality camcorder! my parents have givin a $500-$700 limit though, and any suggestions are welcome. im pretty sure i want the Panasonic AG-DVC20, as i can get it for cheap and it seem reliable. any other suggestions though, as a said, are welcome.

In that price range you're going to have a hard time finding the
essentials. If you can get the DVC20 for that price, go for it. Just
don't get sucked in by the scam websites out there - that's a $1200
to $1,500 camera.

what would be an example of a scam website? the site im looking at looks legit, im not sure =?

Check the sellers on sites like www.resellerratings.com; the scam sites are usually pretty obvious from the ratings there.

They are not a retailer - they are a comparison search engine.
That price listed is from expecam.com and they are one of the
scam websites.

Use B&H prices as the benchmark. If you find a price much lower
then it's probably a scam. Buy from a LEGITIMATE retailer. There
are plenty. B&H Photo, Adorama, Calumet, Helix Camera, KEH.com,
BuyDig.com (Beach Camera), 17th Street Photo, Hunt's Photo &
Video to name a few. Better to spend a few hundred more and
actually get what you ordered than save several hundred and spend
months on the phone and sending e-mails - trying to find out
where your camera is.
