I'm just getting into video editing on my computer. I'm shopping for capture cards (for editing from machines that only have RCA outputs and not Firewire) and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice. I have a pretty limited budget and I'm planning on using the card with Adobe Premiere Pro (again, because of the limited budget, or I would use Avid). I've looked at cards from Pinnacle including the Moviebox DV (Firewire connection). Does anyone know what kind of quality the video is from this card and how well it works with Premiere Pro? If not, can anyone suggest a good capture card for a guy on a budget?
Could you not just fit a firewire card.
I have done this on a Pentium 2 400Mhz for ?20 and it captures with no dropped frames!!
