Yeah, i just bought a cheap capture card to record my xbox 360. I plugged the av inputs in aswell as a output cable to my speakers so i could hear what was going on. Then when i recorded and watched it there was no audio, i can not figure out how to record audio, please help me i need this for a school project.

Thanks,
VoLcOm

If windows sees the capture card as a sound card, you probably have to change the recording device to be the capture card rather than the normal sound card in the PC.

Probably START_MENU => CONTROL_PANEL then find the icon for Sound, then find devices to choose.

Linux, the choice of a GNU generation.

Not meaning to ask the obvious, but is your speaker cable plugged into the correct audio out port on the back of your computer, in the correct sound card? Is you software and hardware/speaker volume control turned up, is the mute button deactivated? If a motherboard soundchipset, is it toggled on in the BIOS?
