Hi everyone, I am new here.
I would appreciate any info about if canon xl1s provides the 4:2:2 format.

No. It's 4:2:0 in PAL and 4:1:1 in NTSC.
Still a pretty good picture though.

I plan to start my own dramatised documentary filming and although I am new here, it looks like I found a nice place to hang around.
