Hey, im like a noob at movie makin, im doin software engineering at uni but ive made 4 short films all about 10-15 min long, first two were just silent films cause the guys that helped me out wouldnt stop makin up their own lines which pissed me off lol....
in my other 2 movies, i used 3DSmax and RenderMan for Maya to add some virtual props and also a virtual character, like a little alien thing called 'Spunk'.
anyways, im thinkin of gettin a new camera and i have $3000 to spend, what camera should i get for a more professional and authentic look? i saw the new panasonic NV-GS400, looked pretty good had the whole Leica Dicomar Lens and 3CCD camera system happenin, i also saw the SONY HDR- HC1 and then i was thinking should i go for a camera that uses HDD, or DVD or film rather than the DV? The only thing that was leading me to the panasonic or the Sony was the fact that the quality was the same as HD televison quality. Could anyone help me out and suggest a quality camera that i could buy for $3000 or under that will enable me to produce more authentic looking movies but will be able to transfer to my computer quick?
Thanks
