Anyone now of a camera I can get with a $1000 budget that produces broadcast quality images?
Thanks alot
For true broadcast quality images, $1000 will not be enough. Most broadcast quality comes from Digibeta and HD cameras, but some of the prosumer camcorders like the panasonic ag-dvx100, canon xl1-s, sony vx2000, etc... are coming fairly close to broadcast quality. The cheapest of these cameras is no less than $3000... but that is for the camera alone. To achieve a broadcast quality image and audio with these cameras you'll need good lighting, filters, lens attachments, a good mic, tripod, a knowledge of manual controls, and good post software for proper color correction. So basically you'll need at least 5 times your budget to achieve the look you want. For $1000 you can either get a good one chip camera or a very used 3 chip camera.
