Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here on the website, and I've gotta say that this is a great resource for any upcoming moviemaker!!
I've got a question though, and though it might sund relatively noobish, I was just wondering if you guys could help.
I've just started using After Effects in terms of trying to make a lightsaber effect. The only problem is that when I importthe file I want to edit it just comes up as a black screen!! I'm using a pentium 3, XP After Effects 5.5. and importing from Adobe Premiere. I'm sure it's a configuartion problem connected to my settings, but I'm sure that the programme is in PAL mode and that the frame rate is the same as th captured film.
I'm slowly runnning out of ideas here and any help would be greatly appreciated.
After Effects was lent to me on CD by a friend, so I don't have a manual to teach myself. It's kind of going though it and reading on forums how to do certain things.
Cheers!!!
I have done the same thing using After Effects 6.0. I site that will really help you out is www.ryan-w.com Go there and watch his lightsaber tutorial. He will walk you through the process, and I believe he uses the same version you have. Check out my lightsaber effect at www.theperfectvideo.net.
