Anything to everything really. From how you approach and work with actors to collaborating with your DP. Any advice would be very welcomed.

Regarding Actors: Rehearse the hell out of everything so they know the blocking. Know the material so you can answer their questions. Allow them to improve a bit to make things natural but also insist they do it as is "in case" the improve doesn't work out well.

Regarding the DP: Give them all the details you can ahead of time so that on the day of production they don't need to ask a lot. Knowing what shot should be enough. This means either shot lists or boards. Communicate with them so that the DP knows what you want and then try to give them the freedom to do their job so you can concentrate on other things. Let htem watch the rehearsals and blocking and listen to their comments and suggestions, especially during rehearsals when you have time to adapt and nobody will thing less of it.
