Hi there.

I am working on a short film and would really appreciate feedback.

Its a work in progress and still requires compositing of 3d and 2d SFX but any tips of suggestions to improve it as it stands so far would be really appreciated.

Please take a few moment to rate the film (0 = poor 4= excellent)

Overall quality

Camera work

Audio

Lighting

Editing

Many, many thanks

Watched your film, very nice ? the Audio is really well done, lighting and editing quite good also. I?m assuming this is an art film, as such it really works. I like all the touches, the directing voice, the effects, the video production sounds etc.

I know It?s a work in progress and there seems to be a story here, but I?m not quite following that. That?s why as an art film I don?t really need much more.

I got an idea of what the film is about, but I think you need more emotion from this character to show his distress, fear, etc...whatever he is seeing or hearing and the shots you will be adding to show this. Maybe you have shot close-ups, but none were present. He should be studying this DVD he receives...doesn't seem to be that curious as to what this is or where it came from. Use close-ups to give us that feeling/emotion. Who is the DVD from? You have mostly long shots and they show the tone/mood of the film very well, but you need more punch to get the audience involved. More shots to show us why he is in the places he is in. Why is he in the condemmed building? Why did he go there? Show us why he did what he did.

Hey,

Just out of curiosity, what are you trying to achive with in the first 30 seconds of this short?

I like the way that you shot the characeter walking through the ruble in the deralyct building, Think that its shot really well. How ever personally I would have re shot some of the footage on acount of ambiant sound and the wind affecting the mic. Also there are also clearly planes in the back ground for a couple of these shots.

I'm also not sure what your trying to achive with this short?

Could you tell us some more about the short please?

I'm not really sure what basis I'm supposed 2 be judging it on, so Im not going to rate it just yet.

Cleary.

i agree with clearly. both on inro and the entire short.

make sure there arent any varying factors when shooting continuous sequesnces. a good idea is to get some ambient sound, then overlay it so it sounds a little smoother.
