hello. im new to this whole producing stuff. but anyways.. im thinking about making an adult film..nothing better than being a producer and have this much fun eh?? lol/???
well any ways..for this type of film i think i can get away with less equipment that usual>> am i correct. i need to make my first step to purchase equipment. i intend on spending around 5,000dollars for camera and lighting, or whatever else it is i need for filming . aside from editing software and or etc.
any help or advise in regard what equipment i need for this type of film greatly appreciated..
oh and by the way all shooting will be done indoors, if that meens anything..
Don't down play your work just because it's an adult film. If you're willing to pay $5,000 to produce it, you obviously want it to look good.
Camera - I'd suggest recording on mini DV. you can find a quality mini DV camcorder for around $1,000. Let's say $1,500 just to splurge. I wouldn't spend more than $80 for a sturdy tripod.
Sound - An external mic is a must. Doesn't need to be a high end shotgun mic. A useful one can be found for under $200. 3ft. extention cables are around $6 each and a mic stand would be no more than $35.
Lighting - An out of place shadow could easily label you as amateur. If you want a pro look, light well. You'll want more than one light source. Wal-Mart. 3 standing lamps and a surge protector can be bought for under $100.
Editing - Consider the strength of your computer. If you've got a great computer, don't limit the cost of your software. If not, spend no more than $500.
After all the above, you'd have a good chunk of that $5,000 left. The rest could be used for props, costumes, condoms, lunch for your actors, etc. Whatever works. I hope this helped. Enjoy.
