A Differnt Background Question.....

I captured analog video of a news set. I then grabbed a frame to use as background.

The problem is the network "logo" is on the background. I wanted the look and feel of an empty newsroom. I then chroma keyed and put myself onto the set.

Would I need permission from the network to use it? Or how do I remove the logo and keep the quality the same.

The second part of the question is let's say a person is wearing a gorilla suit and the footage is captured via video tape and the image is used in a short. Would permission be needed to use the character from the actor? Show producer or network?

I read the FAQ and did several searches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you only grabbed a frame to use as a background I would suggest changing the logo in Photoshop and avoiding any and all questions.

I don't have an answer for the second question about the gorilla suit.

Thank you for the response.

Currently all I have is MS Paint, it is not the best program and quite frankly I am not real strong using it. I will play around with it and see if I can remove the logo.

Thanks again for the tip!

You might want to just fake your own set if your gonna use greenscreen anyway. A generic world map, often with continents out of whack. A logo of some kind with the name of the program. Shouldn't be too hard.

I played around in MS paint yesterday and removed the logo. Have not dropped it into the video yet to see how it looks.

In the original used a logo for the fake newscast. I played around with different fonts and colors and moved it around the screen at the start of each segment. Your right it was easy.

The world map suggestion is a good one, it got me to think a little outside the box.

The current project is about 15 minutes, I think I am going to have to rework the entire project because of some things "I borrowed" and included in the fake newscast.

At some point I want a project I can submit as a short..

Thanks for the tips!!!
