I am almost ready to do my first short (14 min.). I am going to borrow or rent a 3CCD camera for the shoot. I am wondering if after the shoot, can I use my 1CCD camera to transfer the MiniDV tape to PC without any image quality loss?
ive also wondered this so if ne can help us both out thanks?:)?
i'm pretty sure that when you're using the camera to transfer the info to the computer, the camera is acting as little more than a VCR, so it shouldn't affect the image quality.

The CCD(s) are used to record the image, so have no effect on playback. You'll simply be using your 1CCD camera as a playback device so there isn't a problem.

I just finished a film book that recommended using a cheaper camera for DV playback to save wear on the more expensive camera. Should be no quality difference.
