I don't think I've see this question addressed elsewhere, so if anyone has any ideas of the answer:

We all know that a 3 CCD camera is best for quality due to the seperation of colors via the three chips. Now, here's the question: What if you're shooting a movie in black and white...will it make a difference in quality. I tend to think it will, because the colors still enter the cam, but are translated into the black and white, but I'm just not sure. Basically, what I'm saying is that if you have a single CCD cam, can you capture black and white footage that will look good when transfered to film?

Thanks for any answer you've got

in my oppinion... tones of black and white change as much as color does so it might make a difference however i think that in ure case a camera with better resolution would be of prime importance
