What cameras/effects did they use in shooting 28 days later? i really enjoyed the picture.
As far as I'm aware, a lot of it was shot with regular DV cameras (although I don't think it was MiniDV, rather DVCAM or similar). Part of the film were also shot on 35mm (the end sequence for example).
One of the reasons Danny Boyle opted for shooting on DV was the speed of set-up time. Westminster Council would only give him permission to clear the streets of London for a very short time and if they had have been shooting on film they wouldn't have been able to logistically achieve the "deserted London" shots.

actually, the movie was shot with the use of the canon XL1(s?) The ending was shot on film so it would visually contrast with the survivalistic look of the miniDV video.
That was a really good movie!
It really showed the difference between film and DV for me. It's really too bad it had to be shot in DV, things were blurry a lot of the time.
Doesn't matter though, it was just so neat seeing London completely deserted.
If anyone has a script along the lines of this film, please let me know. I have access to US$10m (seriously) for a great screenplay along these lines. $200k - $500k is in the budget for the writer.

We (Small potatoes films) have an excellent script, but it's not along 28's lines though. Our first film is going to the NY film festival

And our next one could use some $$$, crap, we don't even care if it is in the thousands, we are doing them with zero budget as is-just scrapping together things, so having money would be great, even if it is less than $10mil.
The script is seriously very original and maybe we could help eachother out.
Take care,
Jeff
