In the coming week or so, the final cut of my sophomore film will be available on youtube and I'll definitely be posting here about it. In the meantime, I wanted to post one of my freshman films for you all to enjoy.

It's a zombie film, too. Comments and discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Also, can you guess which zombie film I take influence from?

I like it.

You fall into the trap that most movie makers do these days. Just because you get an image doesn't mean you don't need to use lights. It's flat and uninteresting visually. A few lights would make a huge difference.

And the ending was to obvious. Almost all movies of this genre end exactly the same way. I hope with your sophomore film you are using lights and you get more creative with the ending.

But is shows an understanding of visual storytelling and you got decent performances from your actors.

yeah, it's true, the lighting is very flat. We didn't get a light kit until our third film, so I tried to make it interesting through color correction... and it shows. A well lit scene always will look better than any jimmying with the color correction can provide. Good news is, my sophmore film is not only lit, but I had a dp working with me. It looks gorgeous, I can't wait to finish it up.
