well, sort of.
I may have posted another version of this two years ago, but the permission I got for using two images was never written, and as a result, I had to make some modifications to the video.
Here is a short doc I did about my encounter with two snow leopards atacking a dzo (part cow -part yak). At the time, in 2004, it was the first footage ever recorded of snow leopards attacking in the wild.
I was actually in India doing a piece on the evolution and disevolution of all things within the universe using the north of India as a backdrop. This encounter was just a very fortuitous by-product
Since 2004, Planet Earth has obviously gotten some absolutely incredible footage of snow leopards attacking blue sheep. However, this is still the only evidence (apart from anecdotal) that snow leopards will attack animals more than 8 times their size.
Sadly, we were not expecting to see these leopards, and time was running out, so I had to make a split decision not to try to mount on the tripod; the weather was so cold that the camera had to be stored away until the moment of shooting. But if I had known how valuable the footage would have been...still, I was incredibly lucky to have seen this. It's too bad that I can only remember it with one eye open.
Apart from some stilted narration, please enjoy
