If you like old school horror mixed with a bit of comedy, then consider this:

First I'd like to welcome you to filmmaking.net.
I'd be glad to allow the Kickstarter link to your project if you
are willing to offer some information about you and your
project here on the boards. Your first post feels like mass
marketing to me. I may be wrong, but in my experience many
people sign up, post one time asking for money and then
never post again.
Everyone posting here is a fellow filmmaker. We are not always
the best recourse for funding other filmmakers movies. Just like
you, we are struggling to get the funds for our own movies. I
suspect you have never donated money to any filmmaker you
don't know. It's difficult for me to find a reason to support
someone who has never even posted here before and who can't
even take the time to offer an introduction and a little about the
project.
Of course we could click on a link and find out. I did. But I'm
offering a suggestion (as a fellow filmmaker) that being a little
more personal in your approach might be better.
When you read this and chose to give us a little pitch, I will
welcome a direct link.
Let me ask you a question: have you ever donated to a filmmaker
you didn't know on Kickstarter? Do you support - financially - any
of your fellow filmmakers?

Sorry my sudden appearance rubbed you the wrong way. My intentions were not to simply make one post asking people for money and never returning.
I was under the impression that I posted my link in the correct place to promote my project. As you mentioned in your above reply, the link you burned explained who I am and what my project is about.
As far as financially supporting my fellow filmmakers, yes I have, and will continue to do so when I can. Your suspicion about me is incorrect, my friend.
Kickstarter is a place I just recently became aquainted with. It's a fundraising platform for independent individuals. A huge part of the time, platforms like this may not work, but I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. There's nothing to lose, right?
Anyone who has picked up a camera knows what hard work is. Trust me, you don't have to point that out.

Good to hear. You will be the rare filmmaker who doesn't post
a "drive-by" request for money. I look forward to your contributions
to this forum.

I'm glad to be wrong. Since you have just become aquatinted with
Kickstarter how did you find other filmmaker to help support
financially? When you have financially supported other filmmakers
who you don't know how do you decide who to give money to?
How many filmmakers have you donated money to?
I'm really glad to hear there are people out there like you. It's very
rare.
Let's get that link back up, okay?

I've donated to a few projects thus far, usually through filmmakers' websites. I've never really studied fundraising platforms before. Now that I know about them, they seem pretty cool.
Different factors come into play when I decide to donate to a movie. I'm a big horror fan, so that's always a plus when deciding.
