Unknown White Male is an independent British documentary which was Oscar-shortlisted this year. It tells the true story of Doug Bruce, a young, successful Brit who one day in 2002 inexplicably lost his memories to a rare form of amnesia. The film's release on DVD this Friday (25th August) through www.shootingpeoplefilms.com (the site will be live from Friday). Do check it out - the film caused a media controversy in the states on its release, less so in the UK, with doubters questionning its validity (though the film and Doug's story is 100% true..) The extras include the filmmakers' responses to this, along with an updated interview with Doug, memory experts on amnesia and its causes and impact, and anecdotes and interviews from Doug's old friends.
