WOW! This is very exciting. Something new...something different...a network that seems poised to challenge the conventions of TV? Is INdTV the next MTV or ESPN? Al Gore and Co. will surely face the same scrutiny that the above listed networks endured at their inception. No one could have possibly believed that 24hrs of music or sports would ever work. It did, and TV and was forever changed. Can INdTV grow to be the same king of iconic company? I think these guys have something, but must remain steadfast to their original mission. NO FLIP-FLOPPING. Will INdTV have the same sort of impact on the box? Personally, I think that the traditional television model is again primed for further tinkering. Stay tuned, only time will tell.
The state of TV is bleak...NBC whines that FOX is stealing shows. Reality, Reality EVERYWHERE..."Mommy Swap", "The Next Rocky Balboa", "Home Remodels and Life Remodels"....even Tommy Hilger, Lizzie Grubman, Mark Cuban, the Gotti family all have their own programs. Do I care? Do you care? TV today is weak. No one is doing anything interesting. Can you name five shows that you actually like? And this is why we need INdTV.
Let?s hope and prey that INdTV, which may be the last independent network, completes their mission and creates a ?media revolution?. Maybe then Al Gore won't have to worry about Nielsen Points being stolen from him and his network.
Anyways?.I learned about INdTV through a friend, googled it and ended up at www.INdTV.tv. That Digital Correspondent position they are advertising seems pretty kick ass. If only I had spent a little more time in film classes and a little less time in economics classes. Who wants to travel around the world producing stories when you can be an investment banker. At least I have my PD-150 and a dream.
